Crouchy! – Episode 72

May 20th, 2009

I won on the Man City/West Ham game, although again, I thought it would actually be Man City who came out on top, not West Ham. But that is the beauty of the “total goals” bet of course!

I then tried the same trick for the Brum/Liverpool match betting that there would either be no goals scored or just one scored. I switched the TV on to find that my bet had already gone down as Liverpool were 2 goals up after just 4 minutes! Watching the game I had a feeling that Peter Crouch was looking very likely to score so decided, absolutely against strategy, that he would score the next goal and stuck a pount on that outcome at 5/1. Within 6 minutes he found the net and won me 5 quid! When I placed that bet I was unaware that he had already scored the second goal. Lucky lucky lucky.

Back to “total goals” again for this evening’s clash between Chelsea and Newcastle. I reckon there will be 2 or 3 goals scored and have stuck a pound on that. I also remembered that I still have an outstanding “long shot” bet on Arsenal to lift the European Cup, so mention that below.

Number of bets still outstanding – 2 (ÂŁ1.00 at 10/11 and ÂŁ1 at 8/1)
Running total – ÂŁ24.00
