Episode 50

January 24th, 2009

Wimbledon proved to be a productive place for me yesterday. Sticking to strategy for my first bet I placed ÂŁ5 on Serena Williams to beat Golovin at odds of 1/20. It only yielded 25p but it was possibly the nearest to a “dead cert” I have had so far. I then placed ÂŁ1 on Russian goddess Maria Sharapova to beat Japan’s Ai Sugiyama at 1/4, and then placed another bet in running on her when she was 1 set down at 5/4! That was risky and against strategy but it paid off.

I have now stuck ÂŁ2 on Serena to win again today against Capriati and also a further ÂŁ1 on her to win the Ladies Final. At the moment I cannot see anyone beating her. I have resisted the temptation to bet on Tiger Tim to win his quarter final today against Ancic because this is traditionally about the time he disappoints the nation Go on Tim – prove me wrong!
